Community Arts & Culture at Broadwater Farm
Broadwater Farm is a community with a rich and complex history.
This programme — commissioned by Haringey Council and shaped by residents and local groups — created space for its heritage to be explored, expressed and celebrated on the community's own terms.
It highlighted the value and necessity of galvanising resident voice and locally-led creativity.

We collaborated with local social enterprise, Wheely Tots and several artists and creatives (Bee Veronica Moore, Bhajan Hunjan, Shepherd Manyika, Mark Applegate, Tessa Hunkin, and historian and creative producer, Jade Chao) to deliver a range of creative learning workshops.
Our closing celebration and exhibition included a showcase of the work of local artists, Inga Bystram and Henry Murdock, and neighbourhood portraits photographed by resident, Elliesse Kaaouachi.
"I'm so proud of what we've been able to do...I didn't imagine this could happen...it's amazing, I can't stop smiling."

Panel Talk on the History of Sound System & Music Culture in Tottenham
Our final workshop featured a panel talk hosted and curated by Mark Professor (Selector's Showcase, The Mighty Ruler Sound System).
In a rich conversation produced by Jade Chao and recorded by Community Music, Black music history is discussed by performer & entrepreneur Mary Otumahana (aka WonDRWomN); rapper and mental health advocate, Shocka; alongside the legends of early Sound Systems evolution, Mandingo, MC Navigator; and community leader, Clasford Stirling MBE.
"Please do more, we can get together and talk about painting and art and expand the conversation."
